Tom Sill Gifts In Kind is a program which accepts donations of non-cash products, goods or services and distributes them to hundreds of charitable and non-profit organizations throughout the province of Manitoba.

How Does The Program Work?

Tom Sill Gifts In Kind Inc. identifies specific agency needs on a regular basis, then solicits local retailers and major manufacturers for the essential items. We do "Business with Businesses" and act as a facilitator for companies who need to liquidate excess inventory, unsold merchandise or depreciated equipment in good condition. It is our policy to accept only goods that fulfill our agencies' needs based on compiled survey results. Agencies in the province of Manitoba benefit because your donation helps channel scarce financial resources into direct program services.

The general rule of in-kind donations allows us to issue a tax deducible receipt for the market value of the product. Revenue Canada has issued new provisions regarding the issueing of tax receipts for In Kind Gifts.

The website is www.techsoup.org. The website is specifically designed to assist non-profit or charities in obtaining software from well-known manufacturers. There are certain restrictions associated with receiving software and these vary from one manufacturer to another. The restrictions are detailed on the website and most Manufacturers do not exclude Canadian Charities from receiving software donations.
